Singapore, Singapore – 31 December 2007- Year 2007 Lubrication Specialist Intensive Training class achieves astounding over 70% pass rate to create newest batch of CLS certified lubrication professionals in ASEAN region.

In 2005, Metalux partnered veteran lubrication trainer and consultant Ray Thibault to launch the inaugural CLS class and certification exam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The following year, the class and exam were brought to Singapore where it has since remained and continued to enjoy excellent regional participation.

Hosted annually by Metalux, the 4-day intensive class focuses on providing participants with up-to-date and knowledge of lubrication fundamentals, theory and practice, and follows the training curriculum designed by Ray Thibault for those taking the Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) certification exam by the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). The class is rounded off with an optional CLS examination set by the STLE on the fifth day.

The CLS certification exam is notoriously difficult, comprised of 150 short answer questions that test a range of lubrication topics from fundamentals to equipment-specific lubrication to the creation and management of lubrication programmes, and more. This makes the over 70% pass rate at this year’s CLS class an exceptionally sweet achievement.

The CLS certification ranks amongst the top echelon of awards in the lubrication industry. It is acknowledged to recognize those individuals who possess current knowledge of lubrication fundamentals and theory.

Next year, METALUX plans to bring in new classes in lubrication, lube oil analysis and vibration analysis.
